Good, Basic SEO Tailored for YouTube.

Although I did find a couple of typos, the writing and editing is better than many books in this category of How-To books.
The author writes in a straightforward manner, free of wild statements, hyperbole, with no jokes and no four-letter words. I should note, however, that his claim to have made $2,000 the Sunday before writing this guide might be a bit suspect, but, the veracity or the conditions upon which this is based cannot be gaged to determine the relevance - in the book, though, I found mostly common sense, trustable, explanations.
I did very much appreciate the screen shots he posted to assist readers - this visual learning approach takes a great deal of effort and does justify the otherwise high price for a fifty page booklet.
I borrowed this book through my Kindle Unlimited account, and probably will purchase a copy outright in the near future.
Having described what I liked, there is one point that did bother me, a bit. At one point, location 210 of 454 (45%), the writer states something that, if I'm not mistaken, has been known about SEO for years. To quote the relevant paragraph:

There is no one best practice to this as every Channel is as unique as the person presenting it, so try and find your voice and see what works overtime.
Find your winning formula and stick to it.
There are a few things you can do to optimise this technique. One is to check that viewers are seeing your CTA.
To do this check your Audience Retention stats on your YouTube Analytics Dashboard.
Click on the ‘Audience Retention’ tab in the left sidebar
You then select your latest videos and study the timeline graphs of when your viewers are leaving your content.
You’ll be able to analyze the exact second that your viewers leave your video. Which if there is any significant spikes in your data will tell you information you can use. You want to see if there is a time period towards the end of your video where including your CTA would reach the max amount of viewers without interrupting the viewing experience.

Glad I read this book first before uploading my video

This is the second book by this author, Daniel Silver. The other which I reviewed and recommend is on making money on Facebook. Both his books are ones not to casually read, but to hang out with milking them for all their worth. He actually knows quite a bit more about this subject, SEO on You Tube than I thought there was to know. For instance, how You Tube SEO is geared more toward Keyword Relevance and View Experience than say number of times the site has been viewed. But what it really comes down to quote Daniel Silver: "What you need is good content that either fixes a problem or provides entertainment." If you don't have that no amount of SEO tricks will work. I've been considering putting some of my courses up on You Tube, and am so glad I read this book first.
